Schöneweide is a district in the south-east of Berlin. German technology group AEG used to run several factories here on the Spree waterfront. Since AEG moved away several years ago, the old buildings (now called "Rathenau Halls") are used for other purposes. The Berlin University of Applied Sciences moved into a part of this huge area, some offices and a supermarket. But most buildings are vacant until today.
Today, I took myself an hour of time and took advantage of the great winter weather. I wandered the old factory quarter - and discovered, that old, crumby industrial architecture can look aesthetic too. Enjoy the album!
